The mission of the Jorma Panula Foundation is to nurture the art of conducting. It was established by Taco Kooistra in Amsterdam in 1999. Yearly conducting masterclasses with Jorma Panula in The Netherlands were organised such as with the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and the Dutch Junior Conducting Academy was initiated with the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ in Amsterdam as home base. The foundation received fundings from the Kersjes Fund and the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund. In 2013 the DVD ‘Jorma Panula shows’ was produced. Since 2021 Aron Tringali has been the artistic director of the foundation.
